Publishing success for one of our Wellington residents

26 July 2017

One of our young residents from Wellington has been busy celebrating the launch of her first published book.

Elizabeth Jade, a teenage author from Wellington in Somerset celebrated the launch of her first published book at the Blackdown Garden Centre in Taunton in June. Elizabeth, who has been diagnosed with Apsergers, started writing at the age of 14 as a way to channel her feelings.

Elizabeth says: “I don’t write stories, I just put a bunch of words on to paper and the characters do the rest. Plot twists are never planned, they just happen. If you let your imagination run riot, trust me, you’ll be surprised at the result, I always am.”

Her book, ‘Akea, The Power of Destiny’ follows the advertures of a special dog who is destined for something great.

More adventures are in store for Akea, with Elizabeth saying she has around 13 stories currently in head, waiting to become books in the series. We look forward to reading them!
