This year's gardening competition winners are announced!
Yesterday we were joined by Countrywide Grounds Maintenance to congratulate the winning residents and homeowners of this year's gardening competition.
The winners were invited to a celebration lunch at our head office, and were presented with garden centre vouchers by Qamar Khan, our Estate Services Contracts Manager, and Sarah Abouzeid, Director at Countrywide.
The gardening competition took place throughout the summer, and the categories, winners and runners-up were:
Most Improved Garden
- Winners – Mr Bradley and Ms Ali from Southville, Bristol
- Runner up – Mr S McAlister from Vesuvio care home in Westonzoyland
- Winner – Ms R Lucas from Bristol
- Runners up – Mr and Mrs Daines from Taunton
Winner of the ‘most improved garden’ category for her front garden, Ms Shani Ali, said ‘We as a family have really enjoyed taking part in this initiative. We had no idea this Knightstone competition would unlock in us the love for gardening.
For us it has been a brilliant challenge because it’s involved us spending more time outside in the front, where we have now met most of our neighbours. (Great as we’re new to the street). This competition has been truly superb in getting us involved with changing what our street and community looks like.’
Helen Dewbery, our Senior Tenancy and Estate Services Manager said, ‘It was great to see so many of our residents and homeowners from across the region getting involved in this competition. Congratulations to our winners.
We saw some fantastic gardens and flowerbeds, and it was a great way of raising awareness of how important it is to keep our gardens tidy and in good condition.’
Well done everyone!
