Memorial Club in North Somerset is revamped with our support
We’ve supported a revamp of the Pill Memorial Club, a local venue in the village, along with our contractors, Lovell.
Together, we’re building 14 new homes nearby on Station Road. Lovell donated £5,000 of building materials for the refurbishment of Pill Memorial Club, fulfilling their commitment to make a positive difference to the local community, a key part of their contract with us.
The Memorial Club in Lodway, Pill, hosts regular live music events and is a popular social club for people in the village. The transformation has created a brand-new stage area, more space and a better view for the audience, and new sound-proofing. There is also a brand-new area for playing darts.
Dave Summerhill, development manager at Knightstone, comments: “It’s great to have been a part of this project, which we hope will benefit the whole community. We’re committed to working with contractors who support these kinds of projects. At Knightstone, we strive to build strong and lasting relationships with communities where we have homes.’
Lovell build manager Paul Oakley said, “Wherever we work, we aim to create benefits for the wider community as part of our Lovell Legacy programme and we’re delighted to have been able to assist with the improvements for this well-used community venue.”
The 14 new homes on Station Road, Pill will consist of eight two-bedroom apartments for affordable rent for residents aged 55 and over, two three-bedroom family homes for affordable rent and four two- and three-bedroom houses for shared ownership. The housing development is due for completion in November 2014.
