Our dragon is unveiled in Taunton
Along with residents from Waterside House in Taunton and Westford Grange in Wellington, we've unveiled our dragon at The Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre, as part of the Taunton Deane dragon trail.
The dragon design was picked by young people from Westford Grange, and the location was decided on by residents from Waterside House.
Jane Edmonds, Assistant Director said, ‘After seeing how much people enjoyed the Gromit trail in Bristol and the swan trail in Wells, we thought it was a great idea for Knightstone to get involved in the Deane Dragon trail in Taunton. We’re a housing provider in the south west and have a number of homes and residents in and around Taunton.
There was a clear opportunity for some our residents in different communities in the Taunton area to come together to get involved and meet each other through this project.’
The young people from Wellington who chose the design did this as part of their ‘Dreamscheme’ activities. The Dreamscheme is a youth led initiative where young people decide on the type of community work they’d like to do locally. They collect points for completing tasks and can use these to put towards rewards such as trips and activities.
