How we set your rent

We set your rent using a government formula. Have a look at our All about your rent page for more information.

To see how the rents we charge compare with other local landlords, take a look at our How our rents compare spreadsheet. Rents for similar homes won't always be identical as landlords have to think about different things. If you have any questions, please speak to the Income Team.

Service charges

Your service charge pays for services you share with your neighbours, or other things your rent doesn’t cover, like:

  • Gardening and cleaning in common areas
  • Maintaining and replacing lifts
  • Employing an estate supervisor
  • Lighting communal areas.

If you want to know more about the service charge process and paperwork we send you, have a look at Your service charges explained leaflet on the left.

Please check your tenancy agreement to see what services you pay for, and what you have to pay. We’ll always let you know if we plan to change the services we provide to you, to make sure we understand what you want..

We review your service charge every year and we’ll ask you about any changes we suggest so you can give us your comments and feedback. We’ll always consider your feedback before we set the final charge, and we’ll make sure we let you know 30 days before we make any increases.
