We’ve secured planning permission for new, contemporary homes for shared ownership in Bristol

27 January 2016

We’ve secured planning permission for a new contemporary affordable housing development in Knowle, Bristol, with our consultants Barton Willmore. The new development, just two miles south of Bristol City Centre, will provide 35 affordable homes for shared ownership, including 27 houses and 8 flats.

The new homes will look out onto open green space with easy access to a wide range of amenities all within a mile, including three primary schools, four nurseries, two dentist surgeries, Broad Walk shopping centre, and excellent transport links to Bedminster Train Station and Bristol Temple Meads.

Parking will be provided for the new homes and there are plans to improve the footpath cycleway across the site, prioritising pedestrians and cyclists. Bristol City Council will be making further improvements to the open space next to the scheme next year, following consultation with local residents.

Caroline Hughes, our Head of Development, said, “We’ve been working in partnership with Bristol City Council on this scheme during the past year, to provide additional and much needed affordable housing for the city. We’re committed to helping those who want to take their first step onto the homeownership ladder and are very pleased to have received planning permission to build these homes in Knowle. The development will offer a mixture of 1, 2 and 3 bed homes for shared ownership which will be released for sale next year.”

We plan to start building the homes in spring 2016 with completion due in early summer 2017.
