J3 wins award for transforming the local area
J3 has won a top prize at the 2015 RICS SW Awards for its positive contribution to the local area.
Junction 3 (J3), our development in Bristol, Easton, received the ‘Regeneration’ award, which honours exceptional improvements to urban, rural or coastal areas.
The scheme becomes the latest recipient of the award, after judges praised the scheme’s bold, creative and eye catching design which has helped to transform the inner city site.
J3 has contributed to the significant regeneration of the site and surrounding area, with the creation of 59 new affordable homes, seven business units, a library and learning centre.
Jonathan Platt, director at gcpChartered Architects, said: “J3 is the culmination of seven years dedicated work to create a place that people just want to be. It has completely transformed this part of the city.”
Mike Day, our Director of Development and Homeownership at Knightstone, said “We’re delighted that J3 has been recognised for its improvement to the environment.
“We’re so proud of J3 and the contribution it’s making to the local area, so to see the development being recognised in this way is really rewarding.
‘‘We’re committed to building high quality new affordable homes in areas that really need them, and to ongoing community investment which helps to create great places to live. This project has seen significant input from, and support of, the local communities who share in this achievement.”
The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and the built environment.
