Refurbished sheltered housing scheme officially opened in Clevedon
On Wednesday 13 August, we officially re-opened our sheltered housing scheme Knightstone Court in Clevedon, after extensive refurbishment work.
The work was completed as part of our £10.5 million Sheltered and Extra care Improvement Programme. The scheme benefitted from internal refurbishment of the flats and communal rooms, undertaken by John West contractors, as well as a total re-landscaping and planting in the grounds carried out by Tentors gardening led by Mark Walker.
The project aims to help older residents stay at home and independent for longer, by offering them new and improved facilities that are accessible for everyone.
Over 60 people attended the event, including residents, their families, neighbours, staff, architectural consultants Kendall Kingscott and contractors. Local Councillor Linda Knott also attended, as well as our Chief Executive Nick Horne and Vice Chair of our Board, Barrie Dale.
Barrie Dale said “The newly refurbished housing scheme is splendid in every sense and the revamped gardens are proving a tranquil delight and a real joy.
Thank you to everyone involved for making this improvement programme such a success. I am confident that Knightstone Court will be a special place to live for many years to come.”
