We welcome our new Into Work Team!
This week, we've welcomed a new Into Work staff team, to help and support residents to access employment, training and volunteering opportunities.
The team will include both office based and field based staff, who will work across Knightstone’s operational area of the West of England and Somerset.
The team has a wide range of responsibilities, from engaging with employers and building partnerships, to one-on-one support for residents to help them into work.
Phil Barker, Into Work Programme Manager, said ‘We’re starting a really important and exciting programme of work this year. We want to help our residents on their individual journeys into work, which can include anything from work experience or training, to taking up volunteering or getting help to write their CV.
The launch of our Into Work team is also an integral part of our strategy for supporting residents through the welfare reforms, and we’ll particularly focus on those individuals most in need.
We’ll build strong partnerships with employers to provide the best possible access to quality learning, work placement and employment opportunities.’
As recognition of our work so far, we've recently become a member of the National Apprenticeship Service’s prestigious Ambassadors Network, making it the first ambassador in the housing sector, in the West of England. A key priority for the Network is to raise awareness of the benefits of Apprenticeships and increase the number of businesses of all sizes employing apprentices.
We've also taken on seven apprentices aged between 18 and 24, on 12 month programmes in roles across the organisation.
