Futures at Knightstone staff in Bristol bought Christmas cheer to their residents and floating support clients this week, delivering 110 Christmas hampers to help them start their Christmas festivities.
The Futures at Knightstone team worked tirelessly to raise funds and collect donations from local companies in order to make the hampers possible. Fareshare South West, Marshfield Bakery in Wiltshire, the Village Stores, the Fox and Hound Pub in Acton Turville and Mrs Meggs a primary school teacher all provided goodies.
After a lot of hard work and seven car loads of donations, the team along with four supported housing tenants set to work on the task of filling up the hampers, which along with the goods donated, included a Futures calendar.
Amanda Bennett Support Worker in Bristol said “We are delighted to have been able to provide our clients with these hampers over the festive season. This is the second year that we have been able to do this, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our suppliers for their donations, it would not have been possible without all of their help.
The resident involvement on this project was inspiring; many gave up their valuable time to help others. We really did enter into the Christmas spirit! We would also like to mention the service users who helped with the hampers; they were Charlotte Morgan, Simon Bennett and Olivia Power-Hippsley.”
