The two services inspected were Aids and Adaptations and Resident Involvement. In addition, the inspection looked at how Knightstone performs in Access and Customer Care, Diversity and Value for Money.
The Audit Commission’s final report says: “Knightstone Housing Association is a self-aware organisation and their Corporate Operational Plan for 2009/10 sets out a strong range of service improvements that reflect customer priorities.”
The report also commended strong resident involvement helping to shape services, a track record of delivering value for money improvements, a good first point of contact for customers and the use of systems thinking to drive out waste and re-design services based on what matters most to customers.
Nick Horne, Arcadia Housing’s Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised as having excellent prospects for improvement. Receiving this grade reflects all of the hard work, dedication and commitment of our team. We are also delighted that our aids and adaptations service has been recognised as an example of best practice. We are now working closely with our residents on the findings of the report to further improve the services that we deliver”.
