Residents decided what type and standard of service was expected, helped to assess each contractor and took part in the interview process.
Jayne Whittlestone, regeneration ranager leading the process said “Our residents are at the heart of all we do. Feedback from this process has been extremely positive, and we’re already looking at mirroring this process on other services that we procure”.
Doreen Davies, one of the residents on the procurement group said “It was very satisfying to be involved in the whole process of choosing a new company to look after our gardens. It’s very easy to sit at home and wonder how things happen in Knightstone, I’ve found it stimulating and rewarding and I’ve met some really interesting people.”
